Title: Monolithic multigrid solvers for high-order discretizations of saddle-point systems

Abstract:

Recent years have seen substantial interest in the development of high-order temporal and spatial discretizations for many saddle-point systems, including the Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations and the equations of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD).  While monolithic multigrid is well-known to be an h-robust preconditioner for corresponding low-order discretizations, its extension to higher-order discretizations has not been well-studied.  In this talk, we present several such extensions, to both high-order finite-element discretizations for time-steady problems and to L-stable implicit Runge-Kutta discretizations for time-dependent problems.
